Karen was a beacon of love and kindness. She was loved and respected by so many and left her mark on the world through everyone she met. She was caring and would always give of herself without asking for anything in return. She would go far and beyond to make sure those around her were taken care of. As a friend, and unofficial sister, mother and grandmother to so many. She would always be there when she was needed. Even if it was, in her words, “just a little late”. She had the ability to talk to anyone and make them
feel like they had been long lost friends. Her love, empathy, compassion and kind hearted nature made everyone feel like a part of the family.
A public graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial in Charlotte on June 30th at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers her family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross, where she made regular platelet donations to the Pheresis program for over twenty years.
