So sorry to read about Joshua's passing.   I am acquainted with 
his Aunt Kathleen, in Berlin Maryland.   I just read this sad news.

To the family of Joshua Eyer, I want to send my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband, son, father and brother. 
Mrs. Eyer, I did not know your husband, but as a resident of Charlotte I thank him for keeping us safe. My grandfather was a police officer and  had several prayers that my aunts kept. One is for fallen officers. I hope it brings some comfort. May God bless you. 

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask for your grace and mercy for the family of the fallen officer. We pray that you will shelter them in your love and provide them with the peace and strength they need to cope with their loss. Send your angels to surround them and grant them solace during this difficult time.
Give them the courage to face the days ahead, and remind them that you are with them in their sorrow. Let them find comfort in knowing that their loved one is now with you in your Kingdom, surrounded by joy and peace.
We thank you for the sacrifice of the fallen officer and for their commitment to serve and protect. Thank you for granting them a place in your Heavenly home.

I didn't know this Officer and I don't live in Charlotte. But this just touched my heart as I am a member of the online campus of a well-known Charlotte Church (Elevation Church). I will be making a trip to Charlotte in July as my kids attend Youth Camp and this will be on my mind then. I am sending the family thoughts and prayers from Jacksonville, FL. My sincere condolences to the family. Coming from law enforcement myself it is the dreaded phone call that our family can receive and I am truly sorry that your family got that call. From the stories about Joshua-you should be proud; he is such a true HERO. May God comfort your family and may you see Joshua all around you wherever you go. Ashley, this is a wonderful picture of all of you and I really love it! I've always admired you and Josh for the wonderful and happy marriage you have had! You could always see joy, happiness, love and excitement exude from the both of you because both of you together truly had all of that and more in your little family. Both of you are such wonderful people and parents and it is rare to see a father so involved with his little boy, but he wanted to be as much as possible. You could tell he had a very caring heart! I wish I knew you guys and all of my cousins better and maybe, down the road, you and I can get to know each other more. I wish I had the words and ability to make it go away, but I don't and never will understand. I don't even like the little cliché people use that God needed him back. The Sovereignty of God is just something we have to accept whether we want to or not. It's not right or fair in our eyes and we will never comprehend why God decided to call home such a young, married  man with a little boy, but we still know that God loves us. My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8;28 because it's the only verse that helps me make sense out of life; "And we know that for those who love God, ALL things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." I love you Ashley and will do anything for you. I'm just a phone call away at 704-609-9945 (cell) and I'm almost  always available, so don't hesitate to call me. I will be there today!

I met Joshua in the Army National Guard. I told him I wanted to join CMPD and we talked all about it. He even gave me his phone number so I could hit him up and ask him any questions. He was a good soldier and a great man. I was devastated when I learned he had lost his life.
