Joseph Victor Sheldon Jr.

He is survived by his wife Martha (McCall) Sheldon, his sons; Joseph Victor Sheldon, III and Wilson Scarborough Sheldon, and his sister; Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father; Colonel Joseph V. Sheldon, Sr. and his mother; Dorothy Barwald Sheldon.

Joe was born on November 3rd, 1936 in San Francisco, California. He and Martha were married in Charlotte in 1959, and he graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 1960. He had a successful career in sales his entire life, working for a variety of companies, finally setting up his own sales firm before retiring in Florida.

He was an avid and accomplished tennis player. Joe could often be found on the tennis court teaching young high school and college students the basic fundamentals of the game, and coaching them along their way. He was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church.

The rite of Christian burial is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th at 10am to be held at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Reverend Paul Jagoe will officiate the ceremony.
