Mr. Ellis, 75, of Charlotte passed away suddenly Friday, March 25, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Jon was born December 10, 1935 in Cordele, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Ellis. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech. After working for several companies he started his own company, Sentury Reagents, Inc. in 1974.
Throughout his life he enjoyed golf and fishing with his friends. Later in life his new hobby was wood working.
Jon is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Jon, Jr. and his wife Kristie, his son Robert and his wife Teri and their son Robby, his son Scott, his son Mike, his sister Sue and her husband Curtis, and a brother-in-law Brownie and his wife Emmy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, March 28, 2011 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
