John Brian Riley

John was born on January 27, 1961 to James and Dolores Riley, née Patton and grew up near Dallas, TX. John was a true Texan through and through, an avid hunter, a “jack-of-all-trades” handyman, and, above all, a devoted family man. Through thick and thin, John loved his family unconditionally and always did the best he could for their wellbeing. When his children were young, John happily volunteered to coach all of their youth sports teams and especially enjoyed baseball and softball. John was also passionate about mentoring young men in his community and whom he met on the various jobs he worked across the country. At the time of his passing, John was employed as a Mechanical Superintendent with Mechanical Systems & Services, Inc. in Charlotte, NC—a job that he enjoyed because of how close it allowed him to be to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Jean Riley; son, Justin Brian Riley and Justin’s wife Erica; daughter, Sarah Danielle Riley and Sarah’s fiancé William; sister Rebecca Riley; and brothers Eric, Robert, and James Riley.

Friends, family, and anyone whose life John touched are invited for a time of sharing at 2 pm, and a celebration of John's life from 2:30pm to 4:00 pm, on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the McEwen Funeral Home & Chapel Pineville, 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210.
