John David Miller

John "Dave" David Miller, age 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Born September 19, 1936 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Hobert and Mary (Phillips) Miller. He married Myrtle Stiles Trantham on January 24, 1966 in Charlotte.

A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Dave was a member of Harwood Baptist Church. He retired from Bowman Trucking after more than 30 years of employment as a supervisor.

He enjoyed wood carving, making furniture, gardening, raising livestock and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dave was a Great Man with faith in God, who loved and cherished his family.

Survivors include his children, Robert Trantham, Earlene (Don) Ward, Jeanette Hensley, Juanette (Daniel) Thomas, Ramona (John) Garrison and Kaye (Gary) Mills; daughter-in-law, Karen Trantham; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; devoted nephews, Ray Miller, Ricky Stalcupp, Jimmy Miller and Stevie Miller along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son, Ronnie Trantham; sister, Catherine Stalcupp; brothers, Albert, Doug, Luke, Richie and Grady Miller.

A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
