Born September 11, 1916 in Charlotte, Mr. Crosby was a son of the late Robert Lee Crosby and Bessie Kenan Crosby. Following graduation from high school, Mr. Crosby served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was stationed in France and Italy.
Mr. Crosby’s career was spent with the U.S. Postal Service with most of those years serving at the Park Road location. He also drove buses for the Charlotte Transit System as well as Trailways and enjoyed working in several other capacities following his retirement.
Mr. Crosby was also a long-time member of Oakdale Church of God.
He is survived by two sons, John Crosby and his wife, Dell, of Charlotte and James Crosby of Monroe; as well as his grandchildren, David and Mary Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Price Crosby, in 1992, and his second wife, Reba Lunsford Crosby, in 2014.
A service to celebrate Mr. Crosby’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4th in Harry & Bryant’s “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Road. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
