Joe Allen Burris, 81, passed away on August 24, 2015. Survivors include his wife, Catherine, of 61 years, daughters, Patricia Burris and Jan (Keith) Thomas; grand-daughters, Elizabeth Thomas and Jessica Thomas; and sisters, Jane Parke and Judy Diamond. He was a Korean War Veteran who served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's name may be directed to the Harris Hospice Unit, 200 Hawthorne Ln., Charlotte, NC 28204. McEwen-Pineville Chapel assisted the family with arrangements
