Jimmy Wayne Johnson, 81, of Belmont, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Lincolnton. Born June 17, 1941 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late John F. and Gladys (Phifer) Johnson. He was the husband of the late Brenda (Devine) Johnson.
A Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., Jimmy enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Lonnie Johnson, Shanna Durham, Lisa (Jeff) McCorkle and Michael Johnson; sister, Brenda Norris; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister, Debbie Rector.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Funeral service 1:00 PM following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
