Jesse Norman Cates

Mr. Cates, age 54, of Charlotte passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at CMC Main.

He was born January 20, 1958 in Sanford, North Carolina the son of the late Clyde S. Cates and Elverteen Patterson Cates.

Mr. Cates graduated from Myers Park High School. Jesse enjoyed restoring old cars, racing and riding motorcycles and camping at Myrtle Beach with family and friends. He retired after a long career with Wells Fargo Bank as a communications and computer systems analyst.

Surviving are his loving wife, Kim Tesh Cates; sons, Jacob Cates and fiancee Crystal McCullough and William Cates all of Charlotte; brothers, Sid Cates and wife Candy of Taylors, SC and Randy L. Cates and wife Paula of Clover, SC; sister, Carolyn Wilson of Clover, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
