Jerry Steve Miller, 81, passed away January 14, 2021. He was born August 5, 1939 in Denver, NC to the late Hasten and Alice Miller. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and he retired from Consolidated Freight Ways.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca B. Miller; his siblings, Venoy Miller, Arthur Miller, Loubeth Lanier, Marlene Eargle and Peggy Sherrill.
He is survived by his two children, Denise Sherrill and Scott Miller; three grandchildren, Danielle Hutchison (Dustin), Katie Lindley and Travis Lindley; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don and Melvin Miller.
Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of Freedom Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC, where he enjoyed singing songs of praise. He loved to fish and support his great-grandchildren at their sporting events as he was their number one fan. We will always hold him close in our hearts and miss him dearly. Until we meet again, "Go Heels!!!"
Graveside Service 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation 1 p.m. until time of service at the Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28208. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
