The oldest of three children, Jimmy was born on December 9, 1952 in Charlotte to the late James Russell Wallace Sr. and Margaret Frodge Wallace.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Donna Dellinger, on March 29, 1974 in York, SC. Together, they were longtime members of Crossroads Community Church in the Oakdale neighborhood of Charlotte.
Although Jimmy was a true Charlottean, born and raised, he spent nearly every weekend at the beach with his cousins while they were all growing up. As he got older, he shared his love for the beach with his family and they enjoyed many trips to North Myrtle Beach together.
Jimmy had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make people laugh. He loved watching and playing golf, watching any kind of wrestling match, and he loved the old western movie, Gun Smoke.
Above all else, Jimmy’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his wife and kids and especially his grandson, Jayden. Spending time with Jayden was always the highlight of his day.
Those left to honor Jimmy’s memory include his beloved wife of 48 years, Donna Wallace; his children, Amy, Scott, and Brittany; his grandson, Jayden; and his brother, Gary and his wife Tammy; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Jimmy has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, James and Margaret Wallace; and his youngest brother, Michael.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Crossroads Community Church, 1807 Lawing Road in Charlotte.
It was Jimmy’s wish that no flowers be sent for his services. Should anyone desire, tributes to Jimmy may be made in the form of a donation to help support his son with special needs. Checks must be made payable to his son, Christopher Scott Wallace, and they can be mailed to Crossroads Community Church at PO Box 680312, Charlotte, NC 28216.
