Mr. Thomas, age 90, of Charlotte, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. Born March 6, 1925 in Marvin, he was a son of the late James S. Thomas and Pauline Taylor Thomas. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and participated in several major invasions in the South Pacific Islands. He was former pharmacist of Eastway-Plaza Pharmacy and later a pharmacist for Kroger Save-on. Mr. Thomas was a member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 347.
The service to celebrate the life of James Seymour Thomas will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 30th at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nancy Sain Thomas; two children, Linda Holliday of Mooresville and Andy Thomas of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren, Guy Edward Richardson, James Richardson, Patrick Richardson, Ashley Thomas, Casey Thomas and Ande Thomas; former son-in-law, Guy Richardson; and three sisters-in-law. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Richard and Joe.
