Jim, 75, passed away on December 15, 2018 from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was well cared for by his family, Hospice of Union Co., the VA and ALS Clinic, and Bayada Skilled Nurses. He was born on October 31, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Gilbert and Gertrude Prust. He served 4 years in the US Air Force before beginning his career in sales with GE, RCA and Fisher Paykel. He retired in 2005 to spend time with his grandchildren and play golf with his many Raintree friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Babs Prust of 41 years. He was the father of Kelly Prust Venable (Doug), and Britin Prust Foster. He was the best PawPaw to his grandchildren Corey and Carter Venable and Katie Foster and dad to his devoted dog Chumlee. He also has two brothers, Gregory (Karen) Prust and Scott Prust. He was preceded in death by his first wife, mother of his girls, Karen Jones Prust and a brother, Douglas Prust.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210 on December 22, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm.
