Jimmy, with a most vibrant personality and vigor for life. Always with a smile and giggle for his friends, passed away at home on Thursday, August 1st. He was surrounded by his wife and his two beloved dogs Thumper and Tallulah Mae.
Jimmy lived in Charlotte most of his life. He grew up in Hickory Grove and graduated from Independence High School. He attended ECU, where he fittingly majored in Leisure Studies. He was an accomplished bartender and over the years worked at several different Charlotte establishments. He enjoyed many sports - both as a player and a spectator and he also participated in fantasy leagues. He enjoyed a little travel when he could - one highlight was his cross-country drive to Oregon with Randi where he reported his daily Skittles flavor.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Randi, her parents Carl and Marie Mofield, preceded in death by his parents James Colvin Jackson, Jr (Patsy Jackson) and Nancy Loella Smith Jackson. He is also survived by sisters Judy Whitesell (Graham) and Sharon Woodworth (Tal Sizemore), his four nieces and nephews Sam and Amy Whitesell, Cole and Balay Woodworth, aunts Joanne Santucci and Susie Brevard.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Carolina Boxer Rescue who took care of our boxer Kletus when Jimmy got sick.
