Mr. James Gordon Grantham, 90, of Charlotte died Monday, December 27, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born on August 26, 1920 in South Hill, VA.
Mr. Grantham served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII and flew 35 missions as an Aerial Gunner. He was a Pharmaceutical buyer with Eckerds for 40 years.
Jimmie is predeceased his loving wife of 48 years, Myrtle Grantham and a son, Eddie Campbell. He is survived by his son, Ronnie Stricklin and his wife, Lynn of Orlando, FL; daughter, Harriet Grantham of Charlotte; and sister Adair Purvis of Merritt Island, FL.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Grantham will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at McEwen Pineville Chapel with interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.
