James Freiberg was born on April 22, 1973 to James Herman Freiberg, Sr. and Lily Amelia Freiberg.
James graduated from Elgin High School in Illinois in 1991.
After graduating, James went on to serve four years in the USMC. After serving, he settled in Charlotte, NC, where he had several successfull ventures with the Coca-Cola Company, BMG (Grand Central, Dixie's Tavern, Whiskey River, Rooftop 210, and Blackfinn). He was a DJ (better known as DJ Jazzy Jimmy), and he DJ-ed for many charity events throughout Charlotte, all the major ACC Bowl games, Panther tailgates at the DogHouse, Gravedigger's Ball, St. Patrick's Day Bar Crawl (Rich & Bennett's), along with many, many more events. His favorite gig however, was being Bob Durkin's personal driver after a night out. He was a real estate agent (Keller Williams, The David Hoffman Group, Cullen McNulty Realty). His most recent endeavor being the manager at his favorite sports memorabilia shop known as AAA Collectibles.
In 2010, James met Vanessa at Blackfinn during the World Cup. They went on to marry on October 4, 2014. They have one child together, a daughter, Charley Quinn Freiberg, who was born on Father's Day on June 19, 2016.
Prior to meeting Vanessa, James has a son, Matthew Alexander Freiberg from a previous marriage. James and Matthew went on many sporting adventures together, traveling to different baseball fields across the states.
James would most be remembered for being the life of the party. A man who could always brighten up a room and challeged people to be the best verions of themselves. He loved his wife and children will all his heart.
James is survived by his parents, (James and Lily); his siblings, Gary (Pamela), Diana (Matt), Cindy, Don (Lainey), Steve (Elizabeth), Debbie (Trey) and Mike (Dina). He has many nieces and nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his many friends and colleagues. James is most importantly survived by his wife, Vanessa; son, Matthew; and daughter, Charley.
Services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 and Saturday March 12, 2022.
The first viewing on Friday is from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
The second viewing will be Saturday at 1:00 pm, with the celebration of his life proceeding at 2:00 pm.
These will be held at the McEwen Funeral Home-Pineville Chapel, located on 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
