He was born at home 79 years ago on a snowy day in Holly Springs, SC on March 3, 1942. He is predeceased by his father, Horace Gibson Rogers, his mother, Zemora Prince Rogers Atkins, and his brothers, Kenny and Bartley.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Becky, and adored daughters Jessica Rogers (Kash Law), Leigh Rogers (Brian Dayton), and Robin Rogers Dawkins and Son-in-law Darrin. Wayne grew up farming beside his parents, brother, and grandparents in Spartanburg County, SC. He received a full football scholarship to Wofford College. After graduating Wofford, he taught Math and coached Basketball and Football at Daniel High School.
