Harry was retired from the United States Marines as a Gunnery Sergeant after 22 years. He always had a kind word to say, lived a good life, loved his family and will be missed by all.
He is survived by daughters, Cindy Wilson and Jennifer R. Hixon; a son, Harry L. Hixon; one brother, Robert Hixon; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years Della E. Hixon; two sons, Arnold O. Hixon and Kenneth E. Hixon as well as brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2013 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A funeral service will be held also at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
