Glenda O. Payne

Mrs. Payne, 74, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011.

She was born in Union County, North Carolina, December 29, 1936, a daughter of the late Max William Outen and Gladys Parker Outen. Mrs. Payne was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Harding High School and worked for the city of Charlotte, Equipment Management Division before retiring in 2001. She was a member of Sunset Road Baptist Church and the Adult IV Sunday School Class, member of Women on Missions and the Sunlighters.

The family will greet friends, Friday, July 15, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Sunset Road Baptist Church. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary with The Reverend Steve Bass, Senior Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Matthew Payne is her son, Scott Crisco both of Charlotte, NC; Matthew Payne, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Cleveland, NC, Theresa Carlton and husband, Rick of Salisbury, NC and Danny Payne of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one sister, Patsy James and husband, Milton of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren Nicholas and Hunter Crisco and Kristina Cody; Kim, Kenny, Chandee, Casey, Brittany, Caitlyn and Zachary Payne; two nephews: Jason James of Columbia, SC and Adam James of Charleston, SC. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her son, Brian Stephen Crisco and a sister, Maxine Outen.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her church, Sunset Road Baptist Church, 2317 Sunset Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.
