     How can it be? 6 years since I heard your voice, hugged you without hearing that low giggle. I’m making it through, although sometimes the pain of loss seems to take me over. The “ boy’s” are using your gifts wisely. They are now men. How I wish you could see them grown. The NC mountains bring me solace. The drive sometimes makes me cry... when I hear a song we used to play, sing and dance to. I hope you know how much you are missed and as always: I love you.

Another year without you. You loved jigsaw puzzles and life without you is like a lost puzzle piece. But you left me with so many memories, though nothing can fill the void left in our life puzzle.  We will complete that puzzle one day.

George I think of you just about every day. Wish we could go have lunch and shoot some guns this afternoon. I hate that my kids never got to know you. I'm not sure if I come to mind immediately, Gretchen from Finz.  George was a very loved guy for us, and especially for my Husband.  They became close when they would meet for lunch, occasionally.  If George got there and Keith wasn't, he'd have me call him to come by.
They had great conversations and were both avid readers.  Keith even had a book to give George the day we found out.
He was very upset to hear the news.
I remember him in a different way.
I'm not from here (I married into Matthews.)  I'm from Asheville, and his kind, quirky, unique spirit always reminded me of home.  It was always such a joy for me to see him walking in our front door and he was always such good company.
We, personally (Keith & I) miss him greatly.

George was such a gentle soul, so friendly. I remember him always wearing mismatched flip-flops because he would find whatever left and right that the dogs hadn't chewed up. We will miss you.

I am shocked to read of the passing of George. I picked up the paper today and I am saddened to read this article. I met George for the very first time in my life about two or three weeks ago while we both were sitting at the bar one evening at Finz in Matthews. An hour into our conversation I felt like I knew him my entire life. We had the same taste in music such as the Stones, Zepplin, bluegrass etc. He had so many cool stories of his days when he worked at Lannys Restaurant such as when Andre the Giant arrived for lunch one day. He invited me to stop in some time at his bar in Matthews for a drink and little did I know that three weeks later he would be gone. I REGRET that I did not stop to see him and continue our conversation. He was so down to earth and just a cool dude. There was no pretense to George. People like him are so hard to meet these days. God bless you my friend. I will never forget you.

I will never forget the days when i was just a little girl, running around barefoot, singing and dancing to George pickin' bluegrass with my dad and uncle. No one had a care in the world. George was one of the first people I met when I moved to Charlotte some 40 years ago. We spend many an evening picking and grinning. I will cherish those times and those memories

So sad to hear of George's passing. He and Linda both were always so kind to me when I had a cake shop in downtown Matthews. I had the honor of doing a few of his birthday cakes. I know he is going to be missed by all his family and friends. Rest in peace, George and may God bring peace to all who know and love him.

I will miss seeing you strolling around Matthews and seeing your dog carrying your mail for you, that was so sweet.
