Born on August 2, 1938 in Lexington, NC, Fritts was the son of the late Fred Franklin Biesecker and Mary Elizabeth (Tesh) Biesecker. He attended Welcome Middle School, North Davidson High School and Wake Forest College (now University). After graduating from Wake Forest in 1960, he began his accounting career with Peat Marwick Mitchell. In September 1961 he entered military service and was honorably discharged in September 1963, having reached the rank of Specialist Fourth Class in the Officers Pay Section. At that point, Fritts returned to Peat Marwick Mitchell, where he worked until June 1980, when he left to become the tax director at J. A. Jones Construction Company. In July 1981 Fritts started a private CPA practice, which he maintained until 2017.
Fritts earned his CPA Certificate in June 1964 and was a member of the NC Association of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. An avid supporter of Wake Forest University Athletics, he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, serving on the Theta Tau Alumni Association as president, secretary or treasurer from 2004 until 2017. Fritts also completed terms as treasurer and chairperson of the House of Mercy Board of Directors.
Survivors include his spouse, John Krolewski, sister Emma Ruth Parker of Greensboro, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Biesecker, Jack Biesecker, Robert Biesecker and Steve Biesecker and sister Elizabeth Ann Biesecker.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3rd at Harry & Bryant’s Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4th at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Lexington, NC.
