went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2015. He was born August 13, 1917 in Lincoln County, NC, the son of Dalton Quincy Dellinger and Nancy Braswell Dellinger.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army/Air Force during WWII and retired from Weyerhaeuser Co. in 1981. Fred married Lela Pearl Fisher on March 29, 1953. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather and was known by all for his sweet, gentle spirit and wonderful sense of humor. He was an active, life-long member of Garr Memorial Church in Charlotte, NC.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Pearl, his parents, brothers Walter, Ernest, Garland, Clyde, Oscar, Lester, sisters Vera, Connie, Alice, and Gussie.
He is survived by his sister, Mary, daughters Yvonne Dyer(Reggie) and Freida Pope (John), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Forest Lawn Cemetery West at 2:00pm.
