Frances Harris

Frances H. Harris, 89, went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2021. Frances was born on August 29, 1932, to Kathleen and Lewis Hudson of Commerce, Georgia, later moving to NC at the age of 5. She graduated from Harding High School in 1951 and went on to have a long, successful career. She worked in the insurance industry in accounting, ending her career as the Accounting Manager for Cameron M. Harris & Co. in 1999 after nearly 20 years with the company.

Frances had many interests through her life but her family, many friends, and career were always at the top. She loved her family fiercely, maintained friendships dating back to high school and kept wonderful friends she made throughout her career. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, playing games, and crafting with her family. She was excellent at keeping up with friends and frequently wrote to her loved ones. Frances’ family would like to thank the many friends who helped Frances in so many ways, the incredible staff of Summit Place of Southpark as well as Hospice. We will all miss her sharp wit, good humor, consideration for others, and strong can-do attitude.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen & Lewis Hudson & her sister, Virginia H. Pace. She is survived by brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Pace, nephew, Robin Pace (of Cary), great niece, Victoria Pace (of Hillsborough), niece, Darleen Pace Weinzierl (Dave), great nephews, Evan Weinzierl (Jessica) and Grant Weinzierl all of Charlotte.

Visitation will be held on December 10, 2021 at 11am at McEwen Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Rd. followed by a graveside service at 12pm at Sharon Memorial Park.
