A grave side service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, NC, with Pastor J. Arlen Smith officiating.
Frances was born August 14, 1925 in Dunnellton, FL. She was the daughter of the late Venie Fendley and Ruth Bearden Fendley Smith. She lived her early life in Birmingham, AL, moving to Matthews, NC in 1961, where she remained until illness brought her to the Carriage Club in Charlotte.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, James Louis Brasher, Jr.; sister, Polly Love-Anthony; half-brothers, Basil Smith and Johnny Smith; and her children, Kathy Brasher Johnson (Lee), Diane Brasher Helms (Ron), and James Louis Brasher III (Brenda). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Johnson Lingerfelt, Jennifer Johnson Tuttle (Daniel); and her great-grandchildren, Amanda Rachel Lingerfelt, Eric Shane Lingerfelt, and Taylor Leigh Tuttle. Preceding her in death is half-sister, Charlotte Acton.
Frances was an accomplished homemaker and prolific craftsperson and artist. She loved to shop, garden and spent many hours volunteering at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. She will be very much missed by her loving family.
