Evelyn H. Killian

Evelyn H Killian, 91, of Schertz, TX, passed away on March 12, 2013. She was born in Charlotte on June 22, 1921. She was married to Roy Q Killian of Mt. Holly, NC, for 38 years prior to his death in 1981.

As an Air force wife she lived in many exciting places all over the country and also lived 6 years in Great Britain. In her later years, she enjoyed seeing new places as she and her husband traveled the country in their camper. She enjoyed visiting old friends, and her son and grandsons. She enjoyed her volunteer work at a local hospital in Charlotte. Her sister, Edith Stevens, moved in with her in 1995 and they enjoyed 18 years together. Evelyn loved the Lord and was always active in her church wherever she lived. She relocated to Schertz, TX in 2003 to be with her son. She resided at Independence Hill Assisted Living for nine and half years in San Antonio, TX prior to her death. She will be missed and forever in the memory of all her family. Mrs. Killian is survived by her son, Quentin N. Killian and wife Karen of Schertz, TX; grandsons Brian Killian and his wife Mari of Schertz, TX and Kevin Killian and his wife Melanee of Cranberry, PA.; and great grandchildren Mariana and Briana of Shertz; and Kylee, Braeden and Bryson, of Cranberry, PA. A service to celebrate Mrs. Killian’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 10:30 AM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
