Ernest Eugene "Kelly" Miller, of Maiden, lovingly known as "E.E" or "Miller" passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Miller was born in Charlotte, November 4, 1939, to the late Alma Juanita Mathis and Harry Lee (Haywood) Miller. He was a 1958 graduate of Harding High School and a lifetime member of Glenwood Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1968, receiving many medals and badges. Miller worked for Duke Power for nearly 40 years and after retirement continued to work part-time for Habitat for Humanity. He was also a longtime member of the Mooresville Moose Lodge. He was a quiet but generous man who gave to many charitable organizations up until his death. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Martha Aycoth Miller, children, Kelly "Dit" Brickey and husband Bill, Tracy "Red" Gaskins and fianc‚e Trey Martin, and Eddie Barbee. He was the proud grandfather of Tyler, Ali, Lucas and Logan. He is also survived by his siblings, Tommy Miller and wife Anne, Patsy Caudle, Harriet Benadum and husband Gary, and Brenda Smith and husband Nicky. Miller also leaves many nieces and nephews to carry on his values, brilliance and unique sense of humor. A service to celebrate Miller's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 18, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28212.
