Elizabeth W. Maynor, or “Queen Elizabeth” as her family fondly knew her, passed away at 89 years old on May 24, 2021 in Huntersville, NC. She was born on September 23, 1931 in Conway, SC to Stanley and Daisy (Lovell) Williams. She wed Clarence Edward Maynor on April 6, 1947 and they spent 64 loving years together until his passing in 2011.
Elizabeth was a lifelong Christian and a true woman of God. She attended Gospel Way Baptist Church for a number of years, but she was previously a member of Glenwood Drive Baptist Church.
A Southern Belle at heart, Elizabeth was an amazing cook and while her list of specialties was long, her family particularly loved her dumplings and coconut cake. When she was not working hard in the kitchen, she could be found gardening, completing Bible word searches, or sitting on the front porch with her family and friends.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Sherri (Bill) Seagroves, Kayle (Walt) Hardy, and Ronnie (Deborah) Maynor; her grandchildren, Trey (Erica) Seagroves, Brian Seagroves, Aaron (Payton) Seagroves, Brooke (Ross) Coley, Brice Hardy, Ronald Maynor, and Carlton Maynor; and her great-grandchildren, Hadley Seagroves, Hunter Smith, Raeburn Seagroves, James Coley, Ava Maynor, Levi Maynor, and Sulli Maynor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Daisy; her husband, Clarence; her son, Larry Maynor; and her granddaughter, Dana Maynor.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on May 29, 2021 in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. The family will receive guests from 11am until the time of the funeral service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
