Everyday my thoughts are with Liz Hilton Dountas.  She brought so much love, joy, and compassion to her husband, Chris Dountas, as well as to the rest of the Dountas family.  She will forever be in our hearts!

Eddie, Robin, Katie, and Chris,
Katie had the sweetest smile and had such genuine warmth. I will always hold my memories with her tightly. She was a good friend during my formative years of life and I’m better for having know her. My prayers are with you all as you navigate the loss of Liz.  Sending all my love. 

It is so difficult to find the words to describe the feelings that so many are feeling at this moment.  We remember the beautiful wedding of Chris and Liz and the great hopes we had for their future together.  Our hearts are broken for her family.  She was such an inspiration for those left behind.  May the memories of her beautiful spirit remain forever with those who loved her.

Liz and Chris were always destined to be together and life worked its strange magic with them.  They both supported each other completely and with a passion that made up for the shortness of time that God chose for them.   I'm so happy to have had the time to spend with them and remember the Pitt games we watched together and the times we shared on the road.  Liz blessed the lives of people who were fortunate enough to know her.  Rest in Peace.

To Liz’s family and husband,

Liz was the sweetest and kindest soul. I was introduced to her during my time in the master’s program at UNCC. We went through the two-year journey in the program together and even met after graduation to catch up on school counseling life. She touched many lives and I will always cherish her as a sweet friend. I without a doubt know she made an impact on the students she was able to counsel and even us adults who she befriended along the way in her journey of life. She is and forever will be loved.

Eddie Robin Katie and Chris we were shocked to hear about Liz’s passing.  She was a beautiful young lady. May God give you comfort and peace knowing she is with him now and you will see her again one day.

Robin, Eddie and Katie...there are no words. She was such  a sweet young lady. I remember times she was at my house with Mandy when they were growing up. So special. And Robin you know how much I love you. God gained a beautiful angel and you know you will see her again one day.  Love you guys.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Chris and all of Liz’s family. I knew her for just a short time during her work at PRHS and she was such a burst of positivity and light. She had a special way to connect with students that you don’t see every day and always seemed at peace. The PR community will truly miss her and my deepest condolences to the family. 

Our nephew, Chris, had the good fortune to meet this beautiful girl and bring her into our lives. The minute I met her I knew she was special. Her southern charm was so refreshing. We were lucky to have Liz and Chris stay with us for a short while when he got his job at CU. With all that she was going through medically, she always had a smile on her face and her attitude was so positive. Her maturity was way beyond her years. 
Robin and Eddy:  you raised a beautiful daughter (2 of them...Kate has the same spirit). Our hearts are with you. We feel so privileged to have had her in our lives for this short time. We’ll forever remember her bravery, her dedication to Chris, and, last but not least, that beautiful smile.

I am at a loss for words. I had not heard of Elizabeth's illness and the news of her death was shocking. Having been away from the area for so long, I had not kept up with those who meant so much to us when we lived there. Your entire family was always a blessing to us.
Please know that I care deeply and will lift you up in prayer for comfort, strength, and healing of your heart.

Such sad news about Liz. She was a beautiful young lady and had such a sweet spirit. It’s been years since I’ve seen her family but they were such good friends of mine when Martyn and Katie were in school together.  My prayers are with Robin, Eddie, Katie and Liz’s husband during this time and may God give you all peace in knowing Liz is with her Savior.

Liz is my kids beautiful step mom!!    They adored her and was always so happy when they would get to see or talk to her!!  

My heart is completely broken and I pray for her family to have peace during this time!!   


Liz used to call me and ask me to 'hear her out' on many issues through the years. She hurt when kids hurt. She was always for the underdog. 
I can remember when she found Chris. Her forever love. She told me once she never knew she would find the one who was everything she ever dreamed of. I used to walk by her office and see her sneaking in a text to him. I would say 'busted'! She would say...'guilty!'
I love her like one if my own. She was the 'go to' for so many of our kids at PR. 
She really did and will continue to make a difference. As her kids get older and move on with their lives..she is a part of them. Oh how my heart aches for those who love her. Including her work mom...me
Just remember. Everyday you wake up, you are one day closer to seeing her again. 
That is what you have to hold on to. Seeing her again.

Liz Dountas was such an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be forever in our hearts as the lady who took such good care of Chris and was so gracious  and loving to all members of the Dountas family. She courageously fought such a tiring battle against cancer and is now at peace.  We love you Liz Hilton Dountas!

We only knew Liz indirectly through her wonderful husband, Chris, & some beloved family members of ours who loved Liz  very much & always spoke so highly of her, as well as Chris & her parents. Even knowing her in this indirect manner we came to love her, pray for her, & mourn her passing. We, as Liz did, believe though that she is now in a much better, pain-free place & look forward to hopefully being introduced to her in her heavenly home.
