Dorothy Dukes Rudisill was taken by our Lord at her home September 7, 2015. She was born in Branchville, SC, and proudly reared a family in Charlotte while leading youth choirs at churches including Glenwood AR Presbyterian, Purcell Methodist and Berryhill Baptist
.
Known for her artistic talents, she displayed and sold paintings and china pieces in the area. She was a graduate of the Belmont High School (1938) and a local beauty school.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James Paul Rudisill, a veteran of WWII; sons, James Paul, Jr. of Charlotte and Ronald Lee Rudisill of Surfside, SC.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Rudisill White and Lisa Bradley Rudisill both of the home; daughters-in-law, Phyllis Rollins Rudisill, of Charlotte and Verna Rudisill Bass of Surfside, SC; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Friday at Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Chaplain Lee Dukes officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC
