Dorothy Buchanan Hutchinson CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Dot Hutchinson, age 78, of Charlotte, passed away August 24, 2012, at CMC-Mercy after a short illness. She was born February 12, 1934, in Bakersfield, NC, daughter of the late James Blaine and Dora Greene Buchanan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, George Layton Hutchinson, on July 13, 2007. Survivors include her sons, Carlon Gregory Hutchinson and wife Dana, James Blaine Hutchinson and girlfriend Kimberly; and three grandchildren, Sydnie Lynn, Madi Ann and Daniel Gregory. Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her gentle and kind disposition. She was a long time active member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Dot possessed many talents and still worked at Little & Associates where she had a long career. The Hutchinson family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at St. Stephen United Methodist Church with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm.
