I had the blessing of getting to coach David in middle school for the Sedgefield Spartans soccer team.  He was hard working and willing to be coached, eventually developing into a very strong defender.  We touched base a little after middle school when he was at Myers Park, but I hadn't spoken to him in awhile.  He will be missed.

I really enjoyed being around David in middle school and in high school. He was a part of our Right Moves For Youth program and was always a light when he was around. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you Tran family.

David was a very caring young man and I’m so blessed I was able to know him when he was at Sedgfield Middle. He would come back when he was in high school and let us know he was doing ok and looking out for his friends. I’m so sorry for your loss. It is a loss for us all!

One of my favorite memories of David was when he taught me how to ride a bike. I remember we used to hang out all of the time when we were younger, he would always have a smile on his face .

David was a great friend, he was always there for me when I needed him.He always knew when i was sad and he always found a way to make me smile or laugh.I loved seeing him happy when he would finish editing his photos or videos he was excited to show me the final result  and as always it looked amazing.The day I met him was the best and I wouldn't change it for anything.I love you David you will be missed.❤RIP 🕊

David was so much more than a friend to me, he was a brother to me. From being neighbors to my best friend. We always would do stuff that would get us in trouble with our parents but there you saw us together all the time. From fighting to eating food together. Calling his home my home  and vice versa.  Now i cherish every little memory  we had together for the rest of my life. I want to thank the tran family for welcoming into their homes and too call y’all my second family. 

Hey my name is Kalijah I was a friend of David since middle school we use to dance and middle school and had are own dance crew lol. When we was young we use to perform at pep rallies and talent shows togethers and it brings a lot of memories and fun We had. We checked on each other about 2 years ago and my last words to him was I love him he was a good friend and he will definitely be missed.

David's family was one the first ones to really talk to us when we first moved into our old neighborhood over 11 years ago. We always had a good time playing outside together. I remember when we would climb the trees together and when all the neighborhood  kids would all ride bikes around the streets together. I'll always cherish those fond memories, even the ones when we'd fight over who's rules were right for the games we'd play. Rest easy dude.

I wish I had pictures as well as I have memories. David was an extremely caring person and always went out of his way for others. He was always talented as well and always productive. I remember he was always dancing, photographing, editing, etc. I remember when he was in class with me in middle school and he would try to show off his singing skills to me. It was funny back then. I knew him in middle school and saw him grow little by little after and he always statues pure. Rest In Peace David. 

David was the most caring loving person I had ever met in my life he would always put other before him self, David was the type of person to give you the shirt off his back if you didn’t have one i’m very blessed to have met him and spent the time with him that i did he was the sweetest man in the world I will miss his hugs,laughs,jokes,smiles and his  wonderful personality but the impact he had on my life will never be forgotten until the next life David I love you 3000🕊❤️

Helping me out when rotc and in life . Thank you so much for everything. I miss you ever second and it hurts me everytime knowing that your not here anymore 💔 I love you so much bro. David was a wonderful leader in ROTC and he was always willing to work and help us out. He will truly be missed.

My name is Allison I was a friend of David back in middle school and part of high school. I remember in middle school he was a very happy and friendly kid, making friends here and there, no matter the race or gender. We all enjoyed David’s company and when he would dance. I remember him and another student participated in the school talents show and he really impressed everyone with his cool dance moves. On middle school graduation day he hung out with our group of friends and gave everyone hugs and wished us the best just as we did to him. We all miss him and his carisma. My condolences to everyone that knew him and specially his family. It must be really hard for his family going through this. Specially his mother, no mother should every lose her child, when a child loses a parent they called them orphans, when a husband or wife loses their partner they call them widow, but when a parent loses a child… there are no words to describe the extreme pain a parent feels. Once again May his beautiful soul Rest In Peace. God bless.
