He was the loving husband of 60 years to Voncille (Akers) Litz, of Mint Hill, NC: loving Father of Dava Day (Greg), of New Albany, IN, Cheryl Frazier (Mike), of Savannah, GA, and David L. Litz, Jr. (Barbara Harrellson) of Midland, NC; devoted grandfather to Keith Russell Davis (Jaime), Krista Higdon (Shaun), Andrew Frazier (Skyler), Nickee Litz (Ronnie Musselwhite), and Benjamin Frazier; great grandchildren Joshua and Carter Davis, Eli and Claire Higdon.
Early in his career, Dave proudly served in the U.S Army and then worked for many years in the Financial Services Industry, retiring as a Sr. Vice President at AIG in 1995.
Dave was born on Feb. 16, 1934 in Milton, PA, and raised by his Aunt, Louella Shipe. Dave always enjoyed golfing, family vacations, games of Chess with his grandsons and great grandsons and rooting for Duke Blue Devils basketball.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte beginning at 10am. A celebration of David’s life will follow at 11am.
