Danny R. Helms

Danny R. Helms, age 70, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, September 17, 2021. Danny was born in Monroe, NC to Ellen Faye Medlin Helms & Ralph Dean Helms on July 16, 1951.

Danny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Moore Helms of Charlotte, NC, daughter Lisa Helms Friend (Jonathan) of Lancaster, SC, Michael Ray Helms of Monroe, NC, Shawn Jason Davis (Crystal) of Tampa, FL, Angela Helms Mayo (Marjorie) of Monroe, NC. Grandchildren are Kane Davis of Tampa, FL & Makayla & Michael Mayo of Monroe, NC and 1 great grandchild, Sylas Davis of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by brother Allen Dean Helms of Mobile, AL& Teresa Lynn Helms of Rutherfordton, NC.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Dean Helms and Mother, Ellen Faye Helms & sister Diane Helms Simpson.

Danny worked for Charlotte Pipe & Foundry in Monroe, NC for 43 years. After retirement, Danny enjoyed traveling with his loving wife and spending time with his family.

Services will be held at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 with the visitation beginning at 12 noon, and the funeral at 1 pm. Burial will be private at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Danny's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Charlotte.
