Danielle Renee Potts

Danielle, 28, was born at Johns Hopkins Hospital on August 27, 1982. She was the daughter of Daniel R. and Terry (Bowers) Potts of Charlotte, NC. Danielle came into this earth as a 30 week preemie born with multiple physical and mental challenges. She went to see her heavenly father on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at CMC-University.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving younger sister, Ashlea Nicole, of New York, NY; maternal grandmother, Anna Bowers, of Charlotte; paternal grandmother, Kathryn Potts, of Lancaster, PA; aunts – Kate Bowers Bieski (Ed) of Pottstown, PA; Wendy Bowers (Jim Ricciuti) of Leominster, MA; and, Uncle, Garry Potts (Patricia) of Leola, PA. She is, also, survived by the following cousins: Andrea Weeks, Jennifer Mihalcik, Shawn and Kelly Potts, and Tyson and Jordan Lajoie. She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Bowers and paternal grandfather, Ralph Potts.

Danielle began her education at the S. June Smith Center in Lancaster, PA before enrolling at Lancaster/Lebanon IU 13. Upon moving to Charlotte with her family in 1991, she was enrolled at Lifespan, on North Graham Street. Later her Lifespan class was integrated into CMS facilities at David Cox Road Elementary, Vance HS and Garinger HS. She completed her education certificate in June, 2004 at North Mecklenburg HS.

Danielle had an innocence that reached out to those friends at school and with her church family at University City United Methodist Church. Her smiles and laughter warmed our hearts each day. She has become the newest angel in heaven celebrating a healthy body and mind.

A memorial service, to honor her life, will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary at University City United Methodist Church, Sugar Creek Road. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
