Cynthia Barrett McGowan

Cynthia Dawn Barrett McGowan, age 48 of Gastonia, NC passed away September 29, 2012. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday with a Celebratioon Service to begin at 2:00PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, Reverend Ronnie Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Cynthia was born in Anson County, NC March 13, 1964 daughter of Mary Frances Nance Barrett and the late James B. Barrett. She was a member of Flint Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia, a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, was formerly with Mecklenburg County Clerk of Court and an Operator in Telecommunications for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept. Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister and friend.

Grandchildren, Matthew McGowan, Dakota McGowan and Abigail McGowan-Perez. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Mack McGowan.
