The youngest of three children, she was born on February 23, 1948 in Mecklenburg County to the late Paul Kinley and Irene (Satterfield) Kinley.
Connie attended Harding University High School in Charlotte. From her youth and well into her adulthood, Connie loved fast cars, playing pool, and she was always ready for a fun party. That was Connie in a nutshell – she loved having a good time.
Connie met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Eugene Guy, Sr. in the 1970s. In their early 30s, they started a family and had two wonderful children – Kenneth Jr. and Nikki. Connie worked outside the home here and there to provide for her family, but spent most of her years as a homemaker, staying home with her children and tending to the house.
Like a true North Carolinian, Connie loved the beach and the mountains equally. She enjoyed sight-seeing, being around other people, raising Basset Hounds and Weiner Dogs, and having a big bowl of Nikki’s tasty banana pudding. Connie was loving and good natured, and she also had a sassy side. She was perpetually upfront, and you always knew she was going to tell you what was on her mind.
Those left to remember Connie include her son, Kenneth E. Guy, Jr. (Amanda); her daughter, Andrea “Nikki” Lee (John); her grandchildren, Mackenzie Guy, Jagger Lee, and Samantha Lee; and her brother, Fred “Buster” Kinley (Connie).
Loved ones who preceded her in death include her parents, Fred and Irene; her loving husband who passed in 1996, Kenneth E. Guy, Sr.; and her sister, Carolyn Mullis.
A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Joey Spry will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Fisher Street Baptist Church, 810 Fisher Street in Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie’s name to Fisher Street Baptist Church.
