Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Russell; sons Danny and Dale Russell. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Debbie Eckel (Steve); son, Donnie Russell, daughter in law, Sandy Russell ; grandchildren, April Stevens (Al), Christopher Eckel (Kayce), Jeffrey Russell (Rachel), and Joey Russell ( Kelly); great grandchildren, Jackson, Lincoln, and Adelaide Stevens, Liam and Kenna Eckel, Leia, Gabe, Ben, and Owen Russell, and Hayden Russell; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McEwen Derita Funeral Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. Following the gathering a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM. After the memorial service a graveside service will be held at Newell Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1500 W Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28213.
