Born February 18, 1932 in Wheaton, Illinois, he was raised in Northbrook, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy before attending Miami University where he met his wife, Mary Ryan.
He first worked for Edison Voice Writing in Chicago and then Dayton, Ohio before joining Medical Economics Consulting where he found his niche in medical practice management. Chuck, Mary and their four children moved to Charlotte in 1980 after he became the administrator for Mecklenburg Medical Group. Under his leadership, he grew MMG to over four times the size, adding specialists and several satellite locations. He retired after nineteen years.
Chuck and Mary enjoyed playing golf and attending athletic events such as Miami University and Carolina Panthers’ football games, Chicago Cubs baseball, and Hornets’ basketball games. They also enjoyed traveling around the world, spending time with their children and grandkids, and doing things with their Miami and Alpha Phi alumni friends. After retiring, Chuck volunteered at Raintree Country Club and the Charlotte USO.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ryan Evans; four children, Scott (Renata), Tracy Poole (Robert), Kathy Crites (Tim) and Karen Evans; six grandchildren: Alex Burnside (Jason), Caitlin Evans (Cayla), Brandon Poole (Lauren), Kristen Poole, Megan and Haley Crites; and great-granddaughter, Mara Burnside.
