Carolyn Gable Nelson

Carolyn Gable Nelson, 91, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Asbury Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Annie Laurie King Gable and Sloan Wilson Gable. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter G. Nelson, Jr. She is survived by her loving children Ann Eisenhauer and her husband Phil, Margaret Hillock and her husband Jerry, and Nell Pressley and her husband Paul, 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of Winthrop University and received a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Kentucky. As a professor she taught Business at Morehead College and the University of South Carolina. She was very devoted to her family and was an active longtime member of Providence United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy in life came from nurturing and serving others. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Rd. Charlotte, NC 28211. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials made to Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Rd.
