Carole was born in 1937 to Frances McDonald Jackson and Earl Thomas Jackson in Atlanta, Georgia. She was one of four children and was predeceased by her sister, Janet Jackson Downs and her brother, Don Thomas Jackson.
Carole is survived by her five children: Deborah Weeks Gouge of Max Meadows, Harlow Edwin Weeks III of Shelby, Terri Weeks Silecchia of Charlotte, Scott Thomas Weeks of Cornelius, and Beverly Lynne Reid of Chattanooga; her sister, Linda Jackson Greene; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Carole was an avid movie lover, enjoying old classics like “Gone with the Wind” and “Casablanca”. When she wasn’t snuggled up watching old movies, she enjoyed her kids and grandkids visiting and playing in her pool. She loved crafts, thrift stores and planning events. She had an eye for design and a way of bringing everything together with small details. Christmas was by far her favorite holiday of the year; she loved decorating, cooking and hosting the family at her home. One thing is for sure, Holidays will not be the same without “Nana’s” cooking!
Carole had a heart for the discarded and loved others well. She was thoughtful and intentional with her relationships. She loved her family and her friends. She instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A visitation for Carole will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00-11:45 a.m. at McEwen at Myers Park, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
