Billy Joe McDowell, age 75, of Stanley, formerly of Paw Creek, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021. Born July 9, 1946 in Killarney, WV, Billy was the son of James W. and Katherine (Benfield) McDowell.
He retired after 20 plus years of employment with Blum Industries.
Billy loved and enjoyed spending his time with his animals.
He is survived by his sister, Phyllis J. McDowell and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ronal W. McDowell, Margie M. Ward and Mary E. Seigler.
A visitation for Billy will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC; with the funeral following at 2:00 PM.
