Betty Black Starnes

Betty was a lifetime Charlottean and supported her country, working in a factory making batteries for the military. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; A woman of strong character, which she passed down to her children and grand children. She also held a deep Christian faith and loved to talk about the Lord to anyone who would bend an ear. Her loving prayers will be missed by her family.

Mrs. Starnes is preceded in death by her husband James Allen Starnes, father Otto Brice Black, mother Lillian Hudson Black ,sister Hellen Oldham, brothers Otto Brice Black Jr and Benjamin Nelson Black.

Betty is survived by her brother, Charles Muse Black of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Deborah S Richards (Don) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; son, James A Starnes (June) of Charlotte, NC; daughtrer, Lisa S Obied of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Amanda Owens (Scott) of Clayton, NC;grandson, Chad Starnes of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Catherine Aldridge (Alan), Charlotte, NC; grandson, Justin Alawi of Virginia Beach VA; granddaughter,Sarah Alawi of Charlotte NC; granddaughter, Summer Obied of Charlotte NC; great granddaughter, Olivia Owens of Clayton NC; great grandson, Levi Owens of Clayton NC; great grandson, Luke Aldridge of Charlotte NC.
