Betty Wall Ledford

Betty Wall Ledford, age 87, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at home with her loving husband, John, by her side. Betty was born in Forest City, NC to the late Clifton O. Wall and Myrtle N. Wall. At a young age, the family moved to Charlotte where Betty joined the Salvation Army Corps Cadets, playing trumpet. In 1949, she began working at Lance where she met her husband, John. They were married in September 1950.

After retirement, Betty and John enjoyed spending time in their travel trailer at Ocean Lakes Campground. Her husband, children, grandsons and great-grandsons were the joys of her life.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by a brother, Clifton O. Wall, Jr. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, John H. Ledford, daughter Becky Rodgers (Randy), son Tony Ledford (Lisa), grandsons Chris Rodgers (Emily) and Fletcher Rodgers, great-grandsons Jeferson and Josiah Rodgers, brother Bobby Wall, sisters Patricia Burleson, Sarah Johnson and Carolyn Banning (Jack) and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Friday, January 27th at 12:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am at McEwen Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 6911 Sharon Road, Charlotte NC 28210.
