Betty Grooms

Born December 23, 1932 in Clinton, NC, Betty was the daughter of the late Junius Robert and Minnie Louise Gaddy Underwood.

She was predeceased in death by her husband of 65 years, John T. Grooms; daughter, Terry G. Brown ; son-in law, Marlon Crawford; and 4 siblings Junius Underwood, Perry Underwood, Louise Stephens, and Annie Ruth McLean.

Survivors include a daughter; Cathy G. Crawford; a son-in-law, Joe Brown; 4 grandchildren; Brandon, Jarrett, Megan, and Maura; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Beckah, Cameron, and Kaleigh; numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a graduate of Clinton High School, Clinton, NC. and Hardbarger's Business College in Raleigh, NC. She was employed by the NC Department of Education and Burlington Industries.

She is a former member of Briarcreek Road Baptist Church. She is a current member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Charlotte.

She loved spending years as a homemaker, a wife, and a mother. When her children got older, she worked at Commonwealth Baptist Day Care. She loved teaching 3 year olds.

Friends may visit 10:30-11:30 Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service,5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. 704-568-2106 Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park, immediately following the service.
