Betty Jean Foster "Mama Bettie", 77, of Charlotte, passed away on November 30th, 2022. Born October 3rd, 1945 in Lilesville Township, Anson County, she was the daughter of Ida Mae Cox. On April 16, 1994, she married Jimmy D. Foster in Gaffney, S.C.
For 30 plus years, Betty was a caregiver for the elderly and hospice patients and co-owner of J & B Transportation with her late husband. She was an advent shopper and in her younger years enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her son, Bartees L. (Donna) Cox; a cousin from Lilesville, Reginald Cox; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and husband.
Ms. Foster will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn West Cemetary.
A committal service for Betty will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
