Betty Ann Ayers Dodd died on Apr. 26, 2015 in Charlotte, NC. She was 90 years old, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Stephenville, Texas, the daughter of Myrtle and Young Ayers, she was very proud of her Texas heritage. She attended Tarleton State College and North Texas State College. After marriage to Carlos L. Dodd and raising three children, she worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia in the later years. After retiring to Stephenville and living there for a number of years, she later moved to Charlotte, NC.
Betty enjoyed travel, reading, playing bridge and spending time with her family, who will miss her greatly. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Dodd Lemons and husband, Donald, and two sons, John Robert Dodd and wife Teresa, and James Edward Dodd and wife, Julie; seven grandchildren, Christopher Lemons (Kerry), Virginia Costa (Shane), Amy Lemons, Katie Dodd, Mary Dodd, Caitlin Dodd, and Connor Dodd, and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Coleman and Tilly Lemons and Hadley, Blake and Lane Costa.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the "Educational Fund for the Bryson Children" set up at Webster Bank, 176 Broad Street Windsor, CT 06095. Scott Bryson died suddenly last week. Scott was the 39 year old father of a lacrosse player who is coached by Betty Dodd's son, John.
