Beatrice Leroy was born in Thomaston, Georgia on February 8, 1928 – the youngest of five children born to Charlie and Annie (Harvey) Leroy. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She graduated valedictorian from high school and attended some college before marrying William Henry Sneed on her 20th birthday. (Henry was 23 years old and had moved from Thomaston, Georgia to Cleveland, Ohio. After finding employment and completing his three-month probation period, went back to Thomaston to claim his childhood sweetheart). She was a stay-at-home mom to their three children, Reneé, Jackie, and Timothy, but worked part-time as a waitress once they were older.
Beatrice joined the Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, then later the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation and David Verzilli Ministries of Youngstown, Ohio. She later joined New Spirit Revival Center of Cleveland Heights, Ohio in 1997 where she was active in the Children’s Ministry, Mother’s Ministry and as an Elder teaching Firm Foundations class. She loved the Lord and freely shared her wisdom and the love of God with many inside and outside the church. She was a prayer warrior and loved her family immensely. Beatrice loved testifying of the Lord’s healing power and how He healed her of a nerve condition. In her late 40’s the doctors told her that she would have to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, but the Lord healed her she was able to walk on her own all her life.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Sneed, son William Timothy Sneed, daughter Jaqueline Griffin, two sisters Lettie White and Gertrude Beck and two brothers Albert Leroy and Zebedee Leroy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Reneé Sneed, four grandchildren Terrence (Tammy) Sneed, Michelle (Perry) Ferguson, Keith Griffin, Andrea (Channing) Wright, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rachel Leroy, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
