Barry Neal Gilberg

Born September 10, 1954 in Lynn, MA, Barry was the son of the late Doris and Harold Gilberg. He spent his childhood in Marblehead, MA. Following graduation from Bates College and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a graduate degree, Barry moved to Charlotte, NC. In addition to enjoying a long successful career as a social worker at Charlotte Rehab Hospital, Barry enjoyed traveling, reading, folk music, and the beach. He was also a member of Temple Beth El in Charlotte.

As a proud uncle, Barry found great joy keeping up with his nieces and nephew's activities over the years as well as spending time with Chloe, the family golden retriever in Massachusetts.

Barry leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his younger sister, Ann Neely of Salem, MA, former brother-in-law, Michael Neely, of Marblehead, MA, nephew Jared Neely and wife Erica of Salem, MA, niece, Dorie Blieden and husband Ben of Hamilton, MA, niece Lauren Fitzgerald and husband Brandon of Salem, MA, great nieces Riley and Harper Blieden of Hamilton, MA, his lifelong friend, Karen Olson, of Tallahassee, FL, and his community in Charlotte. Barry will be remembered always as a kind and giving soul.
