Barbara Jean Moore

Barbara Jean Moore, age 97, of Johnson City, TN, formerly of Charlotte, NC passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023. Born July 12, 1926 in Charlotte, she was the daughter of Earl Elson Sr. and Florence Maybelle (Hackett) Elson. She was the wife of the late J. Norman Moore.

A graduate of Berryhill High School in Charlotte, she retired from banking in the Myrtle Beach area after numerous years of employment.

An avid shopper, she enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Elaine (Michael) Moore Gallardo and Ronald (Nancy) Moore; daughter-in-law, Wanda Moore; grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Lindsey Grindall, Shana Sullivan, Mackenzie White, Sherry Moore, Gage (Emily) Gallardo, Brian (Katie) Moore and Emily (Kiko) Diaz; 19 great-grandchildren; along with surviving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Dee Wayne Moore; along with two brothers and a sister.

A funeral service for Barbara will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Entombment in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
